Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)

The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a six-year plan for regional transportation projects. It includes all types of transportation projects (e.g. highway maintenance or expansion, bicycle and pedestrian trail work, Metro Transit projects, and aviation projects) that are funded federally through the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT). MAPA updates this document annually.

The TIP includes basic project information such as cost estimates, proposed funding sources, and schedules for each phase of federally funded projects. Non-federal projects are shown with less detailed listings that provide basic project information.

On October 1st the approved TIP for the new Federal Fiscal Year takes effect. The previous year’s TIP is archived and no longer used as the official program.
