Western Sarpy County Transportation Enhancement Plan (WE-STEP)
BackThe Western Sarpy County Transportation Enhancement Plan (WE-STEP) is a strategic transportation plan for western Sarpy County, developed in collaboration with the City of Gretna, City of Papillion, City of Springfield, Sarpy County, and the Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA).
WE-STEP provides a framework for changing communities to develop for future generations. The plan identifies a proposed future regional transportation network and proactive standards that are flexible and can fit with what develops around it.
This project builds on the findings of the Sarpy County I-80 PEL and was awarded funding through the Heartland 2050 Mini-Grant Program.
The WE-STEP Draft Plan Recommendations document is undergoing individual jurisdiction approval which is anticipated to be finished in January of 2025. Following an update to the MAPA Travel Demand Model this draft plan will be validated and finalized using the updated growth and traffic forecasts.
