RPA-18 FY2026 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendment 1

Iowa Regional Planning Affiliation 18 (RPA-18) is considering an amendment to its FY2026 Transportation Improvement Program that would impact a road project in Pottawattamie County. The amendment public comment period runs Oct. 1, 2025 to Oct. 8, 2025.

The affected project is:

Iowa Department of Transportation – Bridge Deck Overlay on Interstate 880 in Pottawattamie County

The amendment would remove the Iowa DOT Bridge Deck Overlay project in Pottawattamie County from the FY2026 Transportation Improvement Program because the letting or bidding process already occurred in FY2025.

The FY2026 TIP discusses federally funded transportation projects within the boundaries of RPA-18 for FY 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029 (FY starts on Oct 1). The TIP is an annual work product that is a federal requirement of all Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and a requirement of the Iowa Department of Transportation for all RPAs. Projects include highway maintenance or expansion, trail facilities, bridge improvement projects, and safety projects among others.
