Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP)

Back

The City of Omaha has received an award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) program to develop a plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other harmful air pollution in the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).

This plan will inventory greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout the MSA, and provide strategies to mitigate and/or reduce emissions. Strategies and projects included in the plan will be eligible for future implementation funding.

MAPA is working to develop and coordinate the plan with regional partners and support public engagement and stakeholder outreach.

As part of this project, MAPA and the City of Omaha submitted a Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP) to the EPA in March 2024. View the PCAP webinar on MAPA’s YouTube channel to learn more about this document and how it was developed.
