The 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) helps guide future infrastructure projects in the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area. Updated every five years, the Metropolitan Transportation Plan, known previously as the Long Range Transportation Plan, projects the transportation needs for the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area for the next 25 years and includes a list of projects to meet those future transportation needs.

This planning initiative creates a vision for a stronger, safer, more vibrant region moving into the future. The 2050 MTP takes a comprehensive approach toward addressing transportation in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area and incorporates elements from studies MAPA has completed during the past five to 10 years. The goal of the plan’s projections and proposed solutions is to increase the quality of life for area residents.
