2024-2027 Civil Rights Policy
BackMAPA’s Civil Rights Policy details the steps MAPA takes to ensure nondiscrimination in all its programs and services, and to encourage participation for residents who have limited proficiency in English. It serves as the agency’s official Title VI, Limited English Proficiency (LEP), and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) policies, and documents how these policies are implemented. It also outlines the procedures for submitting complaints and the steps which will be taken to address and resolve them.
In June 2020, the MAPA Board of Directors adopted an Equity Resolution to increase equitable outcomes in the Omaha-Council Bluffs region through MAPA’s work. This resolution reaffirms the agency’s commitment to an equitable and just region, and ensures that the issues of disparities, justice and racism are at the forefront as MAPA works to do more with greater intensity and focus to realize the goal of expanding true opportunity to all residents.
The Civil Rights Policy includes a summary of MAPA’s annual Equity Assessments which are presented to MAPA’s Board of Directors. The Equity Assessments score MAPA’s work in each of the eight action items included in the Equity Resolution.
