The Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA) releases an amendment to its 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan for public comment. The public comment period runs Sept. 26, 2024, to Oct. 21, 2024.

The amendment adds 18 projects to the plan and updates construction costs for 13 projects already in the plan, three project descriptions and anticipated federal revenues to reflect recent funding awards.

The amendment adds several Nebraska Department of Transportation road projects, Eppley Airfield construction projects and several trail projects throughout the Omaha metro.

Updates to construction costs include various airport, road, bikeway/trail and planning projects.

The public comment period includes an open house on Oct. 17, 2024, from 4-6 p.m. at MAPA offices located at 2222 Cuming St., Omaha, NE 68102. The public may attend at any time during the two-hour period.
