Coordinated Transit Plan Amendment Public Comment Period
The Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA) seeks public feedback on a minor amendment to its Coordinated Transit Plan. The amendment adds data regarding populations with limited English proficiency to the plan. The public comment period runs July 19, 2023, to July 26, 2023.
MAPA’s Coordinated Transit Plan serves as the Passenger Transportation plan for the Iowa Department of Transportation.
The data being added to the plan through the amendment is intended to document the need and existing conditions of individuals with limited English proficiency within the region.
The amendment also documents existing accommodations made by local transit agencies to help serve people with limited English proficiency.
It includes an inventory of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which protects persons from discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance.
