Public participation is an essential step in the planning process.

The MAPA Public Participation Plan is to be followed for regional planning and programming efforts in the MAPA region. The public participation plan outlines how the agency will work to achieve public participation and was developed based on the agency’s goals to:

  • Ensure early and continuous public notification about regional planning;
  • Provide meaningful information concerning regional planning; and
  • Obtain participation and input to regional planning.
