Public participation is an essential step in the transportation planning process. MAPA’s Public Participation Plan guides its public outreach efforts for transportation planning activities. MAPA strives to involve the public and foster an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere throughout the transportation planning process. MAPA takes a proactive approach in reaching out to protected groups and implementing Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Executive Order 12898 on Environmental Justice, which addresses disproportionately high and adverse impacts on minority and low-income populations.
