Pottawattamie County Transportation Plan

Back

In 2015, the Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors requested MAPA’s assistance in developing a multi-modal transportation plan. Several major projects have been under consideration in recent years, and the transportation plan will provide guidance on the priority and impact of those potential projects.

The Pottawattamie County Transportation Plan will provide a comprehensive glimpse at transportation in the metro area and propose a vision to guide the next 25 years. The plan will evaluate existing conditions, project future growth, and identify needs and deficiencies for roadways, bridges and other transportation infrastructure within the county. These needs will be developed into projects and funding will be analyzed to establish the total amount of anticipated revenue for the County in the next 25 years.

The Pottawattamie County Transportation Plan compliments the Pottawattamie County Comprehensive Plan, which establishes land use policy guidance for county and community leaders. Together, the two plans provide policy guidance and project identification that serves as a foundation for growth and development within the county. The Technical Memorandums below highlight the progress made in developing the plan and will be updated throughout the process.
