Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)Back
The Economic Development Administration (EDA) Reform Act of 1998 identifies a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) as a requirement to apply for assistance under EDA’s Public Works and Economic Adjustment programs. The MAPA CEDS is designed to present a roadmap to diversify and strengthen the agency’s regional economy through the collaboration of public and private sectors. In addition, the CEDS provides benchmarks by which MAPA and local stakeholders can evaluate conditions compared to other regions nationally. MAPA is responsible for submitting a full plan update to EDA every five years, which MAPA last completed in 2014.
