FY2020 Call for Projects
MAPA is making a call for projects for a variety of regional funding programs from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Project applications for the FY2020 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) funding cycle should be submitted no later than 4:30 pm on January 18, 2019.
Here is additional information about each program available:
Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) | Regional FHWA funding for trails and other bike infrastructure, pedestrian improvements and other environmental activities associated with transportation projects.
Surface Transportation Block Grants (STBG) – Iowa Only | Flexible Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funding that communities within the MAPA Transportation Management Area (TMA) can use to improve or construct roadways, bridges, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, and to implement transit capital projects.
Heartland 2050 Mini-Grant Program | The Heartland 2050 Mini-Grant Program is a set-aside of funding for MAPA’s Regional Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) Program. Projects funded through this program serve as a mechanism to move the Heartland 2050 Vision forward.
The Vision focuses on six goals to improve our quality of life and create a long-term vision in harmony with our people, places and resources. The goals include: Economic Development, Education, Health and Safety, Housing and Development, Infrastructure and Natural Resources
